A 5mm thick neoprene hip (butt!) protector. Almost all serious rock fishers in Japan use them. I never have, but wouldn't mind trying one out as I've spent untold hours sitting, leaning, and sliding on rocks!
Most of the top manufacturers (e.g. Shimano, Daiwa) produce such products.
