When extra weight is required on a squid jig, say for when fishing a strong current or wanting to get the jig deeper more quickly, then wrap some lead wire around the front weight of a jig. Best to also use some glue to secure it to the jig.
For your reference, in this case the starting weight of the jig was 25.4 g and after went up to 28.8 g when using 1 mm lead wire.
