Squid jig - bait type

Take the snap swivel off the top and push the sharp point through some bait (usually whole fish like mackerel) and you've got a very effective squid jig (around 11cm long), or it can be suspended under a float if the squid are scarce or casting from the shore. Can be used singularly or in a string. With the market really saturated with artificial squid jigs it's nice to use real baits for a change - both types will catch squid but I suspect most are good looking in the eyes of the angler rather than the squid.
